I will dominate 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters met for the usual confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
